In this Perth-based role, be part of a team that provides services to the St Ives underground mining operations, in compliance with Gold Fields' environmental and safety standards. The successful applicant will be engaged in the technical aspects of design and scheduling for the medium to long-term mine planning of multiple underground operations.

This role is available on a hybrid arrangement. This role is offered on a roster comprising 5 Days On 2 Days Off Monday to Friday (8 hours - Perth), 4 Days On 3 Days Off Monday to Thursday (12 Hours - Site), 5 Days On 2 Days Off Monday to Friday (8 Hours - Perth). What You’ll Do:
- Undertake underground design and evaluation work, calculating ore reserves according to planning policies and legislative requirements.
- Handle medium- and long-term design and scheduling, including capital planning for exploration, ventilation, dewatering and backfill.
- Collaborate and contribute to mining technical projects at various stages of development
- Develop strong networks with operational personnel to enable support to the departments
- Create, develop and maintain adherence to appropriate procedures and processes to ensure consistently accurate, appropriately detailed, timely and efficient delivery of mining plans.
- Engage and manage external consultants for specialist technical projects.
- Share knowledge by mentoring our mining engineers
- Conduct economic analysis for underground and technical projects.
Who Are We Looking For?
- An autonomous, driven, and safety-conscious individual who is willing to share knowledge with others
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering
- Proven substantial underground engineering experience, previous knowledge of open pit mining is highly regarded.
- Understanding of mining and environmental approvals
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams
- Strong proficiency in mining software such as Deswik, Xeras, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to share and grow within the team at Gold Fields
