Role Details:
Reporting to the Principal Specialist Operations, this new role as a Senior Specialist Technology Operations is essential in bridging the gap between strategic technology initiatives and operational execution. This role requires collaboration across multiple departments, ensuring that technology is seamlessly embedded into mining operations while balancing safety, cost, and production efficiency.

This role is offered on a 9-day fortnight roster at our Perth corporate office permanently.

About the role:
-
Lead the coordinated deployment of modernisation programs (e.g. CAS, FMS, fatigue monitoring) across Australian assets in line with the Gold Fields Technology Roadmap.

Design and implement site connectivity and integration solutions, ensuring OT/IT system compatibility and scalability.

Act as the central liaison between Group Technology, Asset Technology Managers, and site operational teams to ensure strategic alignment and delivery consistency.

Build strong relationships with Mine Managers, site teams, and vendors, influencing change adoption and driving stakeholder engagement.

Develop project documentation including charters, capital expenditure, and cost models, and facilitate governance across plan–build–run phases.

Lead risk management and operational readiness planning, embedding safety, cost-efficiency, and value delivery.

Support a consistent, repeatable deployment model by mentoring site teams and leveraging lessons learned across assets.
About you:

Possess a Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.

Extensive demonstrated experience in mining technology and systems integration with a strong understanding of operational technology applications in underground and open-pit mining, including automation, fleet management, and digital mine solutions.

Knowledge of industrial control systems, network infrastructure, and data analytics platforms to support operational technology deployment.

Ability to assess current mining processes and implement technology-driven improvements for increased efficiency and productivity.

Strong understanding of mining safety legislation, industry standards, and company safety policies, ensuring all technology implementations comply with regulatory requirements.
