Role Details
Gold Fields St Ives is currently seeking a Trainee Process Operator to join their Processing department at St Ives Gold Mine.
Reporting to the Processing Supervisor you will be responsible for assisting with operating plant equipment in a safe, productive and efficient manner to maximise plant performance without adversely affecting the environment or the health and safety of personnel.

This role is offered on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract on a 4 days on, 4 nights on, 6 days off roster, and would require the incumbent to be residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrate full compliance with the OHS and Environmental Management Systems’ standards by participating in initiatives, toolbox meetings, investigations, training, assisting with the implementation and participating in and contributing to audits within the mine
- Learn and demonstrate knowledge of sections of the plant, in accordance with the current training manuals and task procedures.
- Assist with identifying and diagnosing, where possible, items of plant that require preventative maintenance or repair and assist Maintenance Technicians in the repair of equipment to ensure minimal impact on production.
- Monitor use of reagents and productively participate as a member of the Processing & Maintenance Team
- Complete all administrative processing requirements associated with processing duties, including use of SAP and other relevant information management (IT) systems
About you:
- Current Drivers License
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written
- Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and databases
- Ability to diagnose and trouble shoot problems
