Role Details
Reporting to the Coordinator: Drill & Blast, you will be responsible for providing a quality supervision of the Drill and Blast crews.
Contribute to the delivery of operational targets in a safe, productive & efficient manner to maximise performance by leading and developing a competent crew of operational personnel in achieving production and development targets.
This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off, FIFO from Perth or residential Kambalda/Kalgoorlie

About the role:
- Provide Supervision of all subordinate personnel within the Drill & Blast project team. Provide technical advice on Drill & Blast operations to external and internal customers
- Ensure environmental compliance by conducting regular inspections of the work area to proactively address any adverse environmental impacts and take appropriate action.
- Manage and support performance management for all reports. Ensure performance objectives and targets are SMART and deliver the expected outcomes.
- Demonstrate full compliance with the OHS and Environmental Management Systems’ standards by participating in initiatives, toolbox meetings, investigations, training, assisting with the implementation and participating in and contributing to audits within the mine.
- Contribute to optimal business performance by attracting and developing an appropriately skilled workforce that is capable of understanding production requirements whilst demonstrating commitment to safety, motivating the team and taking a lead role in performance management as required.
- Provide a reliable and accurate operational knowledge and practical application to minimise down time and loss of production
- Assist with ongoing training and mentoring of trainees and directing the work of others where relevant.
About you:
- Prior experience within a similar role in a Surface Mining environment, specifically Drill & Blast operations.
- Basic/intermediate computer skills in Microsoft office
- Knowledge and understanding of the Mines Safety and inspection Act and regulations
- Operational experience on Top hammer production drills would be an advantage
- C Class Drivers Licence, Apply First Aid, Dangerous Goods, shot firer Ticket are all essential
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
