Location: St Ives
Roster: 8 days on / 6 days off (Day Shift), alternating with 7 nights on / 7 nights off (Night Shift)

We're seeking a dedicated Leading Hand Fitter to oversee and execute mechanical maintenance activities for our surface mobile equipment fleet. Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability and optimal performance on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate mechanical maintenance for surface mobile equipment
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Support and lead maintenance teams to meet operational targets
  • Conduct regular inspections and troubleshooting of equipment issues
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and asset reliability initiatives

 

About you

  • Australian recognised Heavy Duty or Mobile Plant Trade qualification 
  • Demonstrated experience in a mechanical supervisory or leading-hand role within mining or heavy industry
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • A strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement
  • 5 years minimum post trade experience
  • Previous experience in Komatsu and Caterpillar fleets 
  • Holding a valid WA drivers license is mandatory;
  • Tickets and certificates such as Apply First Aid, Crane, Dogging, EWP and Forklift are advantageous.
  • Knowledge and application of relevant statutory obligations
  • SAP experience is desirable
