About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and safety-focused Maintenance Superintendent to lead our surface heavy vehicle mobile equipment maintenance team. Reporting to the Manager Maintenance, you will be responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance strategies aligned with site and business objectives.

This is a pivotal leadership role where your expertise in mobile maintenance and ability to drive team performance will directly impact production reliability and asset lifecycle performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the surface mobile maintenance team, ensuring a strong safety culture and compliance with all OHS and environmental standards.
  • Lead by example to create an inclusive work environment that supports a culture of care and respect. 
  • Oversee maintenance of mobile equipment and associated fixed infrastructure to meet safety, availability, and cost targets.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies, schedules, and inspection programs based on OEM guidelines, site standards, and legislative requirements.
  • Deliver accurate operational and capital budgets and manage asset lifecycle planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement through reliability-based maintenance and process optimisation.
  • Support workforce planning, performance management, apprenticeships, and training programs to build a skilled and motivated team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align maintenance strategies with overall mine plans

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Relevant trade qualification and / or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in mining maintenance with at least 5 years in a senior supervisory or superintendent role.
  • Strong knowledge of mining regulations, statutory compliance, and maintenance best practices.
  • Proven experience managing heavy mobile equipment fleets.
  • Proficiency in maintenance planning systems, SAP highly desirable
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making skills.
