We're now seeking an Engineer Production – Surface mining to join us at St Ives Gold Mine.

This role is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, fly-in, fly-out from Perth, or residential in Kambalda/Kalgoorlie.  Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Production, you will facilitate the safe and optimal extraction of gold from the open pit mining operations. In compliance with site standards, you will be responsible for all site mining engineering requirements, including drill and blast pattern design and production scheduling in line with short to medium-term planning targets.

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Senior Engineer with the preparation of medium- and long-term plans and forecasts
  • Develop drill and blast designs that maximise ore extraction and minimise dilution
  • Liaise with the operational and technical teams for short to medium-term schedule implementation
  • Apprising the Mining Manager of issues that may affect safe and efficient production through frequent communication in an appropriate manner



What we are looking for in our successful candidate: 

  • A valid manual driver’s licence.
  • Completed tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A WA Quarry Manager’s Certificate of Competency would be highly regarded but not essential
  • Open Pit demonstrated engineering experience, with exposure to drill and blast design, preferably gold
  • Previous exposure to Microsoft office, Deswik CAD experience is an advantage.
