Role Details:
 

Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Planning, you will be responsible for determining the optimal extraction for the ore-body, develop and distribute mine plans and schedules in order to communicate this strategy along with monitoring the ongoing mining operation to check performance in relation to the plan.

This role can be offered as residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie or Fly in Fly out from Perth on an 8 days on 6 days off roster. Bus transportation is offered to and from site for residential candidates and relocation assistance will be offered to the successful candidate if required.

About the role:

  • Implement strategies and initiatives to achieve best practices and business objectives.

  • Ensure all design work gives due consideration to the safety and well-being of all employees;

  • Ensure designs and schedules are optimised to meet the mine's targets.

  • Undertake conceptual and detailed mine design, assessments and schedules to maximise the deliverable economic potential of the ore body.

  • Ensure the quality of all plans delivered to the operation is practical and technically sound to enable efficient production.

  • Undertake capital and project works including design, assessment, and project management.

  • Coordinate and liaise with consultants for specialist works;

  • Maintain electronic filing system for mine planning design and construction.

 

About you:

  • Have a Bachelor of Mining Engineering or related discipline.

  • Have completed your practical time necessary to obtain a First Class Mine Managers Certificate,

  • Display strong underground technical experience, with exposure to all production phases preferably in gold.

  • Be proficient in mining software such, preferably Deswik, and Microsoft Office

  • Hold a valid driver’s license
