Role Details:
Reporting to the Unit Manager: Technical Services at St Ives, you will be responsible for the leadership of the Production and Planning Engineering Departments, playing a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing mine planning activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of gold resources. You will contribute to organisational success by delivering an optimal production profile from underground and open pit mining operations through pragmatic, effective, and collaborative mine planning covering short-term (implementation) through to Life of Mine (LOM) requirements aligned to the strategic direction of the business.
This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off, 4 days on 3 days off roster, as either a residential within the local community or fly in fly out from Perth. Fully supported and financed interstate relocations will be considered for the right candidate.

About the role:
-
Develop and implement comprehensive mine plans, considering geological data, ore body characteristics, geotechnical criteria, and mining constraints to optimize gold recovery.

Work closely with technical and operational teams to optimize mining performance,underground and open pit, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence standards.

Collaboratively review and update mine plans to leverage off ongoing exploration, performance, and operational feedback aligning operations to annual business objectives and LOM strategy.

Monitor and analyse mine costs, identifying improvement areas and implementing cost-saving measures where possible.

Provide leadership, mentorship, training, and development opportunities to team members.

Communicate regularly with senior management, providing updates on mine planning activities, production forecasts, and key performance indicators.

Foster a culture of business and continuous improvement by regularly identifying and pursuing opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the mine planning and production process.
About you:

Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent

Extensive displayed mining experience with extensive underground engineering exposure, open pit desirable and within gold

Experience and demonstrated understanding of developing operationally ready mine designs and schedules, managing engineering workflows, and technical study work.

Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to support a multidisciplinary team

Proficient in mining software including Deswik.CAD, Deswik.Sched, Ventsim, and Microsoft Office

Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
